Ute Bachinski lives and works in Creston, British Columbia. She works primarily in watercolours and with fabric. Her paintings and quilted wall hangings are inspired by her garden, the mountains, fields, and people around her. She has a keen eye for detail, yet creates bold and vigorous compositions. Watercolour has been her primary medium for some time, but she continues to work in oil and pastel as well. Ute’s paintings are rich in saturated colour with a strong sense of form and a high degree of realism.
The paintings and pastel drawings are inspired by my garden, the orchards and farms of Creston. The voluptuous shapes of vegetables delight me. I have a keen eye for detail, yet create bold and vigorous compositions. Watercolour has been my primary medium for some time, but I continue to work in pastel as well. My paintings are rich in saturated colour with a strong sense of form and a high degree of realism.
